Common Name: Tauari Scientific Name: Couratari cf. obiongifolia Ducke Family: Lecythidaceae

General Characteristics:
Wood moderately heavy and soft to cut; core and alburnum undifferentiated in respect to colt, straw-white, lightly pinkish; medium texture, right grain; surface lightly shined and smooth to the touch; smell unnoticeable.

Main Uses: Tauari wood, because it presents medium mechanical properties, being easy to saw and presenting good output in the unfolding, can be indicated in the obtainment of unfolded sheets, packaging, curved pieces, particle sheets, structural plywood, common use furniture, ceilings and panels, floorboards, broomsticks, etc..
